Fault Investigation / Cable Repair / System Maintenance

Our experienced engineers are trained in relevant fault-finding techniques, using the latest equipment to identify faults within cable systems.

In traditional copper systems we use a range of custom test plugs to identify and locate potential faults and then use specialist equipment such as a TDR (time domain reflectometer) to precisely identify the fault

For fibre optic-based systems we use a combination of the following to test and fault find our systems: OTDR (optical time domain reflectometer), power meter and light source, microscope and visual fault locating LED to help pinpoint cable breakages, dirt ingress, and bend radius faults.

We also own a range of specialist broadcast cable test equipment that we used to test and commission cables at the venues where we work. These include SMPTE hybrid camera cable testers and an audio analyser test set.

Once a fault has been pinpointed our skilled engineers will set about a repair. We stock a variety of cable, connectors, joint boxes, and protection sleeving to enable speedy, robust, durable on-site repairs.

Our vast experience is invaluable when it comes to finding and repairing faults within large-scale venues where cable runs can extend several hundred metres.

Our approach is to build lasting relationships with each venue, the broadcasters and sporting bodies through contracted ongoing maintenance and support. The systems need regular care and attention and with our experience, each venue can benefit from our knowledge base. We aim to become an indispensable partner in the long term.
