TTL Video acted as consultants and subsequently installers on the Media Development project at Wimbledon’s AELTC in 2022. This highly prestigious venue had historically pre-rigged OB cable in the lead up to the tournament and de-rigged post tournament. This temporary approach was time-consuming, messy, expensive in terms of labour and cost and problematic for health and safety.
The permanently installed cable system has enabled Wimbledon to move to a new OB parking area and facilitated the development of the media pavilion and building of brand-new technical services rooms on the site of the old OB parking area.
We designed, developed, and installed the necessary containment, cable, rack bays and connections to achieve a permanently wired solution between the new OB parking location and the rigging route under the show courts. The elevated profile of the venue and its tournament demanded an especially high-level finish and attention to aesthetics.
The system TTL implemented, consisting of 391 individual signal pathways, has capable flexibility and redundancy to enable multiple UK and overseas broadcasters to produce independent coverage broadcast simultaneously around the world.
